See what we did there? Nicole Kidman is featured on the cover of this month’s Vanity Fair, and she seems to be gearing up for the release of her Grace Kelly biopic, Grace of Monaco next year. We love it when Nicole doesn’t look quite so botox-ed stiff, so we count this cover as a win for her. What are you,r thoughts?
Well our favorite girl crush is at it again–Check out Jennifer Lawrence in these snaps for the latest Miss Dior campaign. And unlike those ads that came out in March, she doesn’t look horrendously photoshopped.
We’re loving this clean, fresh faced look. What do you think?
The crown braid has been one of our favorite hair trends of the summer. And because it’s so easy, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t try it too!
Here is how we did it:
Brush out your hair. Part it vaguely in the center (it’s okay if you part it with a slight side part, but the key should be that it is not extreme).
Gather the hair you’d like to braid. I like to grab the section falling from my part to my ear, but you can tweak this to make your “crown” more or less thick.
Begin braiding. As you do so, lift and pull your hair up and back, so it will fall flat when you pull it across the back of your head. When your braid is long enough, pin it at the end so that it falls across the entirety of the back of your head.
Repeat this step on the other side. When you have enough braid, tuck the end underneath the original braid, and then pin.
Hairspray and you are done!
Here’s our recap of all the red carpet fashion from the ACM Awards!
Taylor Swift in a J. Mendel gown, with cutouts and gold metallic accents. Accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and Christian Louboutin shoes. While this was the standout gown on the red carpet, we wish Taylor would have done something a little different with her hair; with the bangs and half-waves she looks like a little girl trying on her older sister’s prom dress. She should have tried something a little more stylized, and a sleek ponytail would have really augmented the chic look of the gown.
Carrie Underwood in a strapless Abed Mahfouz gown. If Carrie Underwood was any less adorable, she wouldn’t be able to pull this off. The beading, the color, the sheerness of the fabric and the slit up the leg is all a little too prom-y for me. And Carrie does this all the time. It would be great to see her in something a little less formulaic.
Aside from Taylor’s gown, Miranda Lambert was my other favorite of the night. She wore a Randi Rahm gold halter. The detail of the dress stylized the gold enough to keep it from looking like a pure explosion, and I thought the look was perfect for a Vegas red carpet. I don’t know if it was intentional, but it looked like her stylist misplaced a huge lowlight in the front that looks obviously out of place. Other than that, Miranda hit it out of the park!
Nicole Kidman in L’Wren Scott. Although the original look was a full length gown (which we actually liked better), we’re glad that Nicole chose the knee length look in a different fabric, as a shiny satin could have looked too costume-y. We do wish however, that she’d done something a little more Vegas in this look, like some sparkly shoes or cooler hair to keep the look edgier, instead of prissy.
The original L’Wren Scott look.
Oh, LeAnn, LeAnn. Do we give you a pass on your narcisstic personality because you grew up a child star? Is it ever acceptable to post an obnoxiously posed glam shot as a “candid” picture on twitter? Anyways, LeAnn wore a Stella McCartney dress with Christian Louboutin shoes and a sunburst bag. The hair is a little 90s for my taste (but, that was probably LeAnn’s peak so we’ll give her a pass). I love those shoes, but don’t think they are appropriate for the red carpet. In fact, we wish the whole look was a little more glamorous.

So apparently making like, a bajillion movies off of the penultimate girl series, Sex and The City, CW is filming a show about a young Carrie Bradshaw, played by AnnaSophia Robb (no not a typo, the girls name is two names with no space between them). Here are some pics of them shooting.
What do you guys think? We’ll you watch it? And if so, do you expect it to be good?
So Stella McCartney designed the Olympic Uniforms for Great Britain.
She explained to the BBC, ” Something that was very important to me was to try and use that very iconic image but to dismantle it and try to soften it, break it down and make it more fashionable in a sense. I think that it’s so recognizable that I was able to play around with it a little bit and take it out of its comfort zone. Dismantle it, break it up into different parts and different color forms and then bring it all back together and bring it back into the flag.”
What do you guys think of the uniforms?
